Addis Ababa, March 19, 2026 (G.C.) – A delegation led by Kesis Tagay Tadele, Secretary General of the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia, remarked during a discussion that the Immigration and Citizenship Service (ICS) has entered a new chapter of operations through its reform process. They noted that the changes achieved are commendable and serve as a model for other institutions.
The delegation was given a detailed briefing on the service’s activities and the progress made by the Deputy Director Generals, Honorable Engineer Gosa Demissie and Honorable Mr. Bikila Mezgebu. During the session, the delegation also highlighted the importance of collaborative work regarding civil and family registration.
Kesis Tagay Tadele, Secretary General of the Inter-Religious Council, pledged that the Council would provide all necessary support to the institution.
The delegation further noted that the transformation within the institution is visible. They stated that beyond improving operational procedures, a legally supported structural renewal is evident, and they expressed their commitment to working together.
Additionally, the Inter-Religious Council expressed its gratitude to the Service for the cooperation provided during various religious pilgrimages and travels.
