The Immigration and Citizenship Service (ICS) has successfully concluded a comprehensive training program conducted at the National Security University. The training focused on information security, customer service, diplomacy, international relations, migration laws, and various other professional topics for 148 employees.

Focus on Institutional Reform

Mr. Gosa Demissie, Deputy Director General and Head of the Immigration Sector, noted that over the past two years, the institution has designed 11 reform agendas. These reforms aim to:

  • Modernize service delivery.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through human-centric approaches.
  • Strengthen and sustain ongoing institutional improvements.

He emphasized that human resource development and capacity building are core pillars of these 11 agendas. The goal of partnering with various institutions for training is to produce a workforce that is knowledgeable, skilled, and vigilant—capable of fulfilling both the service and regulatory responsibilities of the institution.

Commitment to Technology and Ethics

The Deputy Director General highlighted the institution’s commitment to building a leadership and workforce characterized by a “spirit of service.” He mentioned that the ICS is working to establish technology-aided systems that consider both current customer satisfaction and the needs of future generations.

  2. Uphold their national and institutional responsibilities.
  3. Balance their service role with the critical duty of safeguarding national security.
