Addis Ababa, April 16, 2026 (ICS): The Director General of the Immigration and Citizenship Service (ICS), Her Excellency Mrs. Selamawit Dawit, received the United States Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ervin Massinga, at her office today. The two officials held discussions on a wide range of areas for potential bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that Ethiopia and the United States will work closely together on issues concerning migration, the return of citizens, and combating human trafficking.
The discussions also underscored a mutual commitment to collaborate on border management and control, facilitating legal migration pathways, and modernizing processes within the sector.
Furthermore, both parties agreed to work in partnership to implement advanced border management systems and ensure secure human mobility by leveraging technological innovations to prevent document fraud.
